The Costa Blanca has a beautiful coastline extending 170 miles

The Costa Blanca extends 170 miles along Spain's Mediterranean coastline from Valencia in the north to La Manga in the south. The "White Coast" is centred on Alicante, has many wonderful beaches, and is famous for its major tourist resorts attracting millions of tourists every year.

A warm average temperature of 18 degrees C and low humidity

The Costa Blanca has a rich cultural heritage with beautiful natural landscapes and fascinating towns. Leave the tourist resorts and you'll find the real Spain, with ancient towns and villages steeped in history and with stunning scenery. Towns where traditions and cultures continue today just as they did centuries ago.

The countryside in the north of the Costa Blanca is very attractive. The land is green all year round, in contrast to the south, and has wonderful mountain vistas. The pretty valleys such as the increasingly popular Jalon Valley, are famous for their wine, and are some of Spain's most fertile areas, famous for the citrus trees that supply fruit worldwide and almond trees that blanket the ground with rich blossom.

The Costa Blanca coast pretty, unspoilt Spanish villages and resorts, and many excellent golf courses. Benidorm, Alicante and Valencia are superb shopping centres with boutiques, shopping malls and pedestrian shopping areas. Valencia has world-class museums, science parks, an aquarium and many other attractions and places of historical interest.

Valencia has a rich cultural tradition with many museums

All along the coast are attractive resorts, from Denia in the north - an ancient and fascinating town at the foot of the Montgo mountain - through Javea, Moraira, Calpe, Altea and Benidorm to Alicante, and beyond to Guardamar and Torrevieja in the south.

These resorts have plenty to offer for the holiday maker, and most have a wide choice of accommodation near the beach and inland. The beaches have been awarded 32 prestigious EEC Blue Flags for cleanliness - far more than any other Costa in Spain. And these superb beaches are ideal for young families, being gently shelving and sandy - many with play areas for children, and bars and restaurants for the adults. The area has become very popular for water sports, including skiing, sailing, jet-skiing, scuba-diving, snorkelling and wind surfing.

Benidorm has fabulous beaches and a great nightlife

The many world-class tourist attractions on the Costa Blanca include the Terra Mitica theme and nature park in Benidorm, Europe's largest marine parks, many excellent safari parks, waterfalls and beautiful beaches such as those at Moraira, Javea, Altea and Calpe. Costa Blanca has an excellent and pleasant climate, with average temperatures of 18 degrees C and low humidity.

So whether you are looking for nightlife, sports recreation or tranquillity, the Costa Blanca has something for everyone - from cosmopolitan towns where life goes on 24 hours a day to sleepy little villages which time has passed by.

The region is easily accessible with three international airports. This together with the low cost of living and excellent international schools at affordable prices, is making the area highly desirable to many northern Europeans who choose to live and holiday here.
